Commentaire/comment : The card shown for my father Claude JAMOTTE's call sign OQ5HH was the one he used to begin with. Later he changed it to a pale blue background with quite a large yellow star in the middle, I guess to reflect the new flag designed for the independent Congo. I think this must have been in 1959 or so. If anyone on this site has a copy of this card, I should love to see a picture of it.

Commentaire/comment : I was very happy to see my father's call-sign featured on your website - I remember very well hearing him say it over and over again at night when we were living in Leopoldville (which we left rather suddenly in 1960). However, I would like to point out a little mistake on the OQ5HH page - my father was Claude JAMOTTE, not Lamotte. When we left the Congo, we went to South Africa where, sadly, he was not allowed to be a Radio Ham any more because he was "foreign". I think he really missed it. I am sad to say that he died in 1989, still pining for the Congo ...
It would be very nice if you could change his entry to the correct surname. His full name was Claude Andre Jean Emile JAMOTTE.
